Tartu Maraton 2006

The Tartu Marathon is an annual event in Estonia. As you can imagine, it is not about running but skiing. Once again, not the "skiing" we would be used to back in Chile, but cross-country skiing.

If you talk about skiing in Estonia, it is immediately associated with cross-country skiing. This is due to the fact that, although having a bitter and cold 6 month long snowy winter, there are no mountains in Estonia. Usually Estonians proudly point you out that the country has the tallest "mountain" in all the Baltic region :300 and something meters high. No wonder why the image of skiing is almost a synonym to cross-country skiing.
